Rochester is a small village and civil parish in north Northumberland, England within Northumberland National Park. It lies five miles north-west of Otterburn on the A68, which runs from Darlington to Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland.
The civil parish extends from the village north-west to the border of Scotland and England at the Carter Bar, widely acknowledged as the most scenic point on the border.
The civil parish includes the settlements of Byrness, Ramshope and Cottonshopeburnfoot. Kielder Water and Forest Park is nearby, home to the largest forest in England and the largest manmade lake in northern Europe.
